At Changing the Future, we are dedicated to empowering children, young people, parents/carers, and professionals who work with those experiencing complex trauma, special educational needs (SEN support), and challenging behaviour. Our mission is to inspire a change in the future by promoting protective behaviours and providing the necessary resources to support those affected by trauma.
We offer a wide range of SEN support services designed to meet the needs of children and young people, parents, carers, and schools within our community, aiming to change the future for those we serve. From helping with school refusal and transitioning back to education to providing alternative education or ADHOC school liaison services for parents and carers dealing with complex trauma, we are here to take the stress off your shoulders. Our support includes:
Parents/Carers
* Liaising with schools and devising support plans that cater to your child or young person's specific needs, ensuring they receive the right protective behaviours.
* EHCP support assistance to guarantee that your child or young person is receiving appropriate resources and support.
* Advocacy support during meetings with schools and other services.
* Workshops for parents, carers, and professionals focused on managing challenging behaviour.
* Telephone and online support sessions for parents and carers, helping to navigate the complexities of trauma and SEN needs.
Professionals
* ADHOC school support services, including in-classroom and corridor support, are crucial for young people struggling to enter the classroom, helping to change the future for those facing barriers.
* We provide specialized support for school refusal and assist with a smooth transition back to education, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive.
* Our Achieve 2 Succeed NEET program is designed for individuals unable to access traditional provisions, allowing them to develop protective behaviours and pathways to success.
* We offer alternative provision 1:1 support tailored to the unique needs of children and young people, particularly those requiring SEN support.
* Our focus includes meeting young people's sensory needs and implementing strategies to address challenging behaviour resulting from trauma and complex experiences.
* We also provide professional supervision and drop-in services for educators and professionals, fostering an environment where they can share insights and strategies to further support our youth.
