SEND camp with Changing the Future

    🌟 Specialist SEND Summer Camp

At Changing the Future CIC, we believe children with SEND deserve so much more than being kept indoors or restricted to one space. They deserve the freedom to explore, play, and thrive in safe community spaces — with the right support around them.

Our SEND Summer Camp is designed to provide meaningful experiences for children, while giving families peace of mind that their child is safe, supported, and understood. Whether you are a parent seeking inclusive opportunities for your child, or a professional looking for trusted provision, our approach is grounded in both compassion and best practice.

    What We Offer

    • 🌳 Nature & Forest School Activities – Woodland walks, grounding time, and outdoor exploration.

    • 🏞️ Community-Based Experiences – Using local spaces such as parks, libraries, and trails to build confidence and inclusion.

    • 🎨 Sensory & Creative Play – Tailored activities that support regulation and encourage expression.

    • ⚽ Movement & Play – Inclusive games and activities to develop confidence, coordination, and joy.

(Throughout the day, we share photos and updates with parents and guardians, giving you a window into your child’s experiences, mood, and the fun they are having).

    👩‍🏫 Our Staff & Approach

Our staff are the heart of everything we do. They are highly trained, DBS checked, and experienced in supporting children with complex needs. All team members are skilled in:

    • Protective Behaviours – empowering children to feel safe and confident

    • Trauma-Informed Practice – responding sensitively to emotional and social needs

    • SEND & Inclusive Practice – adapting activities, communication, and environments to each child

    • Emotional Regulation & De-escalation – supporting children to manage feelings and behaviour safely

    • Safeguarding & First Aid – maintaining children’s safety and wellbeing at all times

    • Outdoor Safety & Risk Awareness – enabling safe, engaging experiences outside

Many have extensive experience working with children and young people with complex needs across education, care, and community settings.

Staff are confident in supporting a wide range of needs — from sensory processing differences and communication challenges to care and emotional regulation.

Above all, our team is empathetic, patient, and committed to creating safe, nurturing spaces where every child can feel understood, valued, and able to thrive.

    How We Work

    • Child-Centred & Flexible – every child’s needs, routines, and interests guide our planning

    • Relational & Supportive – we build trust through consistent, empathetic care

    • Inclusive & Empowering – all children can participate, feel valued, and experience success

    • Sensory-Aware & Trauma-Informed – environments and activities support regulation and emotional wellbeing

    • Structured & Predictable – visual routines and gentle schedules help children feel secure

Our approach ensures children are not only safe and supported, but also free to explore, learn, and thrive. Families value the calm, empowering environment, and professionals recognise our high-quality, evidence-informed practice.

    Why It Matters

Families often tell us they value that their children are engaged in the community and nature, rather than confined indoors. Professionals recognise our provision as safe, inclusive, and child-centred, with a strong grounding in evidence-based practice.

👉 For children, it means freedom, fun, and belonging.
👉 For parents, it means reassurance and trust.
👉 For professionals, it means partnership with a provider that understands complex needs.

    💰 Pricing & Support needs

At Changing the Future CIC, we understand that every child’s needs are unique. Our pricing is flexible and tailored to ensure that each child receives the right level of support to thrive in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.

Factors that may influence the level of support include:

    • Level of Support Required – whether your child is part of a small group, requires 1:1 support, or additional staffing for personal care or emotional regulation needs

    • Personal Care Needs – support with toileting, nappy changes, or other intimate care requirements

    • Sensory & Emotional Support – additional support or resources for children with sensory processing differences or regulation needs

    💬 Parent & Carer Feedback

“Having people that understand your child and their needs is rare; however, Abbie and Julie have been amazing these summer holidays! I was able to confidently leave my little one with them, knowing that even with no words, they could understand what he needed or wanted. He loved his time with them this summer, and it also gave my two other children some quality time with me, which doesn’t happen often. I will 100% be booking him in again!” – Parent

“We can’t say enough positive things about the provision; there is nothing comparable available for children like N . You showed a clear understanding of high SEMH needs and managed him extremely well. The fact that all activities were tailored to him was amazing, and he had such a positive time. Even on the day when an incident occurred with another child, it was handled very well, clearly communicated, and a plan immediately put in place to move forward. We would absolutely love for him to spend time with you over the October half term and in the future. Thank you so much :)” – Parent
